The first voluntary work experience I did abroad in 2018 was very meaningful to me. From then on, I knew that these experiences, that can deepen your understanding on yourself and life, should feature more often. Since then I have done four more such experiences abroad, and continued finding ways to live the passion for it in Malta.

These experiences are packed with teachable moments and profound insights. However, because they are also very busy, it is important to take time after the experience to process and reflect on what happened.

As someone who enjoys writing, this is one of the tools I use to help myself grow more from the experiences I have lived. After coming home, and during the experience, I write down things that struck me, and spend some time reflecting upon them.

By sharing these thoughts and experiences, I hope that they can be a tool for others to reflect and get to know themselves better. Hopefully, they will also encourage you to take the plunge and try to live moments like these through experiences of your own.
